casette tape
The bad times rewind in my mind like a broken cassette tape,
Only to have a flicker of light,
Flashbacking on me.
Your hand is craved into my frontal lobe,
Holding onto mine.
The bad times start over,
But your hand is nowhere to be found,
I want to yell at you,
I want to scream at you
You see, you promised to stay,
You promised I can call you
And your tattoos are engraved in my mind,
Flashbacks of your hugs.
The light I wasn't supposed to find,
I'm sick, but you are too.
And there is almost nothing we can do about it,
You taught me that,
I'm drowning.
I can barely hold on without you
So please could you tell me how to go on without you,
When you gave me the reason to stay?
Because there is only so much a person can take,
Before the glass in their mind brakes.
I'm sorry for this, but can I just please come over?
Can you just tuck me in?
You see I'm exhausted and I just want sleep
So please could you protect me one more time?
I would not disturb you,
I just want to curl up onto your lap like an artic fox, until the storm passes.
